VALERIE YONG-XU DOWNING

Valerie Downing is a DMV-based multimedia artist specializing in acrylic and oil paint with additional experience working with pencil, pen and ink, and watercolor. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Maryland, majoring in art history and visual arts with a concentration in studio art. Her art has been featured in several exhibitions such as the 'Familiar Strangers' exhibition at Loyola University Maryland. She has a passion for working together with patrons to create lovely and meaningful pieces, whether they be people portraits, pet portraits, still life, or landscape painting. Valerie's work captures the essence of her subject matter, filtered through her unique creative lens to produce art that feels beyond alive.
